The Hospitality Resource Panel Overview

 

The Hospitality Resource Panel/Partnership (HRP) is a framework for businesses and cities to create more safe and vibrant places for people to socialize.

Partnership, priorities and process are defined by those involved, the nature of the community, the stage of evolution of the district, extent of organization among the business sector in an association or other alliance, commitment from city leadership, availability of an effective HRP coordinator and other factors.

A decision to implement an HRP requires time, and acceptance that the evolution of relationships, building of trust, gaining commitment and establishing collaborative partnerships evolve slowly. It may often involve a cycle of introduction, review and approval for continued participation from some form of supervisory body such as city manager, department director or organization board of directors.

Giving permission for individuals to work together, to form alliances and to collaborate seems to be the most significant outcome from the HRP, regardless of how it is staffed, structured or organized. In a sense, the HRP becomes the lightening rod for past conflicts, and disarms the threat
