A vibrant evening and late night economy is a central
element of urban revitalization. Development of a pedestrian-oriented
entertainment district with theatres, nightclubs, cafes, restaurants and retail
shopping is being matched by an increase in downtown residential housing.
Networking with peers and gaining insights from those with
different perspectives can facilitate improved communication and collaboration
and unlock resources for more efficient implementation of strategies.
RHI is uniting a growing network of individuals
with the knowledge and experience in the emerging issues and will facilitate
an exchange through print, electronic and in-person forums to develop
recommendations and standards.
RHI's Alliances are organized into various sections to
provide opportunities for electronic peer-to-peer exchange, a focused discussion
on issues, and face-to-face events. Key to the development of comprehensive
strategies is inclusion of hospitality, safety, development and community in
all discussions.
