Musicians, writers, police, restaurant and club staff from cities
part of the mid-twentieth century music network that formed
the foundation of American music - jazz, blues and gospel - will share stories and
discuss management of nightlife districts and what can be
done today to revitalize heritage music and entertainment.
This event was inspired by a similar forum held in
April 2005 on U Street in Washington, DC, once
considered "Black Broadway" and home to Duke Ellington and
