  • Entertainment Policing and Security: Frank Hafner and Steve Zolezzi attended the 2020 Vision Leadership Summit in Washington, DC on March 7. Linda Pierce from Seattle Police Department was there and will be joining in today's meeting. Frank has taken a leadership role and is working on a collaborative database with other public safety agencies and developing a coordinated strategy with the ABC/Police vice units. The goal is to model strategies used in other cities to work with businesses to reduce risk, and organize an intervention team to provide assistance to assist high service demand businesses get back on track.   • Hospitality Business Orientation: Scheduled for May 12 – 6:45 – 9:45 p.m., May 19 – 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and July 26 – 6:45 – 9:45 a.m. A three hour program to provide a road map for opening a dining or entertainment business in San Diego. (link to site)

  • Mixed Use Advisory Group: Lynette Jones will provide an update and the progress of MUAG on setting sound standards and development of a good neighbor agreement.

  • Entertainment Economic Impact Assessment: Doug Metz will present an update on research to evaluate the economic, employment and social contributions of the evening and late night entertainment industry in San Diego. Click here for draft survey

  • 2020 Vision Leadership Summit: June will mark the tenth anniversary of the first meeting of the San Diego Hospitality Resource Panel. The list above of the projects evolving from the work of the HRP and its impact on other cities throughout the country demonstrates what has been accomplished.
